ILLAWARRA ASTRONOMICAL SOCIETY (IAS) AT A GLANCE
Amateur Astronomer Group
The Illawarra Astronomical Society (IAS) has a long and interesting history.
Established in 1961, we are a group of amateur astronomers who met at the Science Space, Squires Way, Fairy Meadow every 2nd Tuesday of the month.
Our monthly meetings have now resumed since March 2021.
The IAS continues to be an active group with scheduled outdoor activities.
The group enjoys discussion and learning about astronomy in a family-friendly, social atmosphere where beginners are welcome and you don’t need to own a telescope to attend.
